Antony Gormley
Antony Gormley (1950 - ) is a British artist but known internationally for his sculptures, public art and installations. HIs work involves the human figure (based on Gormley himself) and how it relates to space. This space can take on many form e.g. desert, the sea, urban environments, tight enclosed spaces or open air pubic spaces.
He is widely know for his work 'Angel of the North' (Gateshead, England), of which a scale maquette of this work is held in the National Gallery of Australia in their sculpture garden. He also has 'Another Place' (Crosby Beach, England) where his figures appear depending on the tide. Here in Australia he created the work 'Inside Australia' (Lake Ballard, WA). His work 'Event Horizon' has been on show at many major international cities e.g. New York, Hong Kong where his works appear both at street level and on the top of buildings.
Our work is an editioned work he created and is numbered 62/100 titled "ONE FOR ALL" purchased at White Cube in London.
