Breon Martin
Breon Martin, sculptor based in Hobart, Tasmania used individual letters of text to create unique works of art. Studying furniture design and fine art he found that offcuts became a source of inspiration which lead to further investigation into using other offcuts to recycle into his art works.
"I find inspiration from building sites, depots and industrial estates. These properties are filled with pallets, containers, building materials, and surrounded by wire fencing coated with ‘danger’ and ‘do not enter’ signage. I’m also attracted to brightly coloured commercial, advertising and reflective road signs. This clutter is strongly reflected in my work" Breon Martin
